In another installment of Digital Media Makers, our guest is Mike Shehan, CEO of Booyah Networks and Spotxchange.
SpotXchange is a hosted ad management platform for streaming video that provides targeted ad insertion and scheduling, campaign management and reporting. It’s billed as the world’s first auction-based exchange for streaming video advertising.
SpotXchange borrows many of the best practices of sponsored search and applies them to an online video ad marketplace. These practices include, self-service tools, free market bidding, transparent reporting, an aggregated marketplace, and real-time tracking and optimization.
John Federico had an opportunity to sit down with Mike to discuss Spotxchange, its role in the market for streaming video and the Company’s plans for growth.
About Mike Shehan
A longtime Internet entrepreneur, Michael founded Booyah Networks in May 2001. Michael’s first company was LOGEX International, LLC, an e-commerce solutions provider focused on the retail and catalog industries in 1996. LOGEX was acquired by AppNet in 1998. AppNet went public in 1999, and then it was acquired by CommerceOne (NASDAQ: CMRC) in 2000. Michael served as president for AppNet’s two fastest growing divisions – e-Commerce Solutions and Outsourcing Services divisions. Immediately prior to founding Booyah Networks, Michael was the CEO of Ereo, Inc, a venture backed image search technology. Michael holds a bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University.
